Before this, I was a public school teacher for seven years. In 2020 — home with three young kids during a global pandemic — I returned to art. What started as painting became small-batch, functional design. In January 2023, Alex Sweder Art + Design officially launched.

But the thread has always been the same:

I care about how things feel in real life.

I believe beautiful things should also be useful.
